Napa Valley

At last a blog post not about the kids - we enjoyed a trip just the two of us to Napa Valley in June. We had a wonderful, relaxing trip starting with a drive across the Golden Gate bridge then on to Napa. The winery tours and tastings were educational, fun and very tasty. One day we did a Platypus tour to four smaller wineries with a fun group of people. Another day we took the Wine Train for a gourmet lunch and tour of Grgich Hills winery. I just had to chose that tour because of the Grgich connection to Parks & Rec. :) Also, the owner is one of the Napa winemakers who had a wine beat the French wines at a blind world tasting in the 1970s that put Napa Valley on the map. He's now 90 years old and was there the day we visited to chat and sign bottles. Overall, a lot of great wine and fantastic getaway!
