Fontenelle Forest

We found a new place to explore in the Omaha area - Fontenelle Forest. We enjoyed the Riverwalk Boardwalk and Ridge Trail, especially the views of the Missouri River. Acorn Acres and the indoor play area were also big hits!

Washington, D.C.

I had fun exploring DC while on a conference this summer. I was most excited to see the WWII Memorial since I hadn't been there ever. It was beautiful! I'm so proud of my grandpa for his service. It rained a lot while I was in town, but we still managed to check out the sights. I loved the White House tour, especially the green room, and also really enjoyed the U.S. Capitol tour from an intern who did an outstanding job.

Fourth of July

We took a trip up north to Minnesota for the July 4th weekend. First off, a Twins/Yankees game on July 3rd for baseball and fireworks. Next up, what better way to celebrate the fourth than a day at the Mall of America. Adventures at the aquarium and amusement park plus shopping, of course. The kids loved the rides and time with grandma and grandpa. Then, we visited Minnehaha Park with its beautiful waterfalls. A wonderful holiday weekend with family!

Fun with Cousins and Camping

After Colorado we headed to western Nebraska for relaxing and camping on the lake. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins and enjoying the sand and water. Thunderstorms put a wrench in the fun, but we rode them out in the car, and then gathered around the campfire for drinks and s'mores. :)

Colorado

Great family vacation in Colorado with a Brewers/Rockies game and visits to the Denver Botanic Gardens and Denver Zoo. We also made a trip down to Colorado Springs to the Garden of the Gods and the kids' favorite - the North Pole - with fun rides and visit to Santa.

Summer Adventures II

Having more fun in June exploring our favorite spots in Omaha plus swimming lessons - both kids are little fishes!
