Kansas City Union Station

Our next adventure in Kansas City was a trip to Union Station. We had fun at the Science City musuem. Connor enjoyed playing music with the floor piano, xylophone, and garbage can drums. We all had fun building towers. We also checked out the NASA exhibit, model trains, and much more. Connor was pretty excited about the real helicopter and he even got to sit inside!

It was a great trip to Kansas City. Connor had fun playing with all the toys and reading books at grandma and grandpa's house. He also loved running through the sprinkler and was joined by many neighborhood kids. We spent a couple of days at the community pool, which was a nice relief from the super hot weather. Connor had lots of fun swimming, especially jumping into the pool, and splashing around the splash park.

Kansas City Crown Center

Our last trip for the summer was a trip to Kansas City to visit grandma and grandpa. Grandma, Connor, and I had fun at Crown Center with a trip to the Crayola store, a rainforest adventure exhibit and Hallmark visitor's center. We stopped for lunch at Fritz's, a train restaurant, and it was a big hit! We ordered our lunch on the phone, watched model trains go by, and had a lunch delivered by trains dropping our food off to our table.

Colorado

We had a fun trip out to Colorado this past weekend. It started out with a Rockies game versus the Brewers that was definitely interesting. After a rain delay, which isn't fun with young ones, the game got under way, and Kyla and Connor were definitely entertaining the Rudden family. Brewers ended up winning the crazy game, so Jerimiah was very excited! Connor had had enough after a while and managed to fall asleep amongst the noisy crowd. Connor and Kyla are quite the pair, and Connor adores baby Kason! It was a great time with family. Connor enjoyed time with Grandpa Tim and Uncle Patrick at the park. We ended the visit with Patrick's baseball's team championship game, which they won! Connor had fun cheering on Uncle Pat, playing at the playground, running races with Uncle Justin, riding on Uncle Ger's scooter, and running the bases after the game. Great trip!!!

More Summer Fun!

We had a relaxing Fourth of July weekend, which started off with a trip to the Omaha Stormchasers game. Once again Connor had a blast in the kid's zone. He LOVES carousels, and also had fun with the bouncy house and playground. He loves watching baseball, but still not able to sit still for long. Connor also had the chance to give high fives and knuckles to the mascots. The evening ended with some fireworks. Connor's not sure about them - finds them scary and cool at the same time. Summer fun means another trip to the zoo, and it never gets old. Every time we see something different. Connor's really started enjoying playing on his own in the basement, and he really wears himself out. Despite the couch, chair, or even carpet, Connor curled up on the basement coffee table to end a day. He resists sleep, but once he's done he could sleep anywhere!

South Dakota

We had a great trip to the Black Hills area in South Dakota. It was nice to relax and enjoy time with family - Jerimiah's mom, sisters and their familes. Connor especially enjoyed spending time with his cousins Kyla and Baby Kason. We stayed at a beautiful cabin near Deadwood/Lead. Here's some shots of Connor and Kyla chasing bubbles with Grandma Bert. We also enjoyed a busy day at the Reptile Gardens, Old McDonald's Pet Farm, and Storybook Island Park. Connor and Kyla had a great time petting the baby goats and lambs. They also enjoyed the many slides at Storybook Island as well as the different story characters. After South Dakota, we headed back to Nebraska for Kason's baptism. Jerimiah and I are very proud to be his godparents. Before heading home we enjoyed a day at the lake. Connor loves sand anywhere and had fun swimming in the lake, too.

Father's Day

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend in Iowa again this year. Connor had fun swinging on the horse swing for hours at Grandpa Tom's house. We then headed to Camp David for fun in the pool. Connor was a little fishy only getting out of the pool for food. It was a terrific weekend spending time with family!

Summer Fun!

We are having a wonderful summer so far! Trips to the zoo, children's museum, library, eating ice cream, swimming lessons, running through the sprinkler, and more! We made it to our first Omaha Stormchasers game. It was fun, but not the same as the Royals at Rosenblatt. The family area was nice, especially since Connor's favorite part was the carousel. Connor also went fishing for the first time and loved it! He caught four fish and was so proud of his accomplishment, even touching the fish before returning them to their home.
